The Council of African Political Parties (CAPP) has elected Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the vice-chairman to represent Ghana and Chairman of the West African Sub Region.

He was elected at its 3rd General Assembly Meeting in Khartoum, Sudan, held between 19-20 August, 2017.
Koku Anyidoho will serve a four-year term.

Member countries present at the General Assembly Meeting are; host nation Sudan, Ghana, Nigeria, Mali, Senegal, Niger, South Sudan, Kenya, Zambia, Uganda, Ethiopia, Chad, Djibouti, Malawi, Mozambique, Libya, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, and the Comoros.
The General Secretariat of the Council of African Political Parties oversees the third meeting of the General Assembly of the Council, hosted by the General Secretariat, Khartoum in Sudan.
